Andalusia, Granada

I said It before and I’ll say it again : Andalusia in the spring is a dream destination. Flowers are blooming, the temperature is ideal and there are fewer tourist than during the summer.

My favorite part of our trip was the visit of the Alhambra of Granada.

The Alhambra is located on a strategic point dominating the whole city and the meadow, and its view alone justified a visit there. But the real beauty of the place reveled itself to you while you penetrate inside the the Nasrid Palaces. As I was entering the patio of the lions, I felt so inspired and relaxed I could have stayed for hours,  admiring the architecture of this magical place. Everywhere you look your eyes are caught by the finest sculptures.

If I could give you a tip, anticipate your visit to the alhambra and buy your tickets online. The place is so popular that the tickets are sold out weeks in advance.

The Generalife gardens offer a beautiful view over the city. Divided into different areas, its high trees, fountains and flowers of every imaginable hues compose a relaxing resourcing walk…

There are lots of things to do in Granada. I especially liked the Albayzín, which is Granada’s old Muslim quarter. Its labyrinth of little streets bordered with white houses and their secrete gardens (carmenes) will conduct you to the most beautiful spots of the city. Following these lanes you will reach the San Nicolas mirador from where the view over the Alhambra and the snowed picked of the Sierra Nevada is breath taking.
